"Deal. With. It."
We Filipinos, believe that we are an important part of a community. Wether it be local or foreign. We know we have that kind of tenacity in an ambitious manner and we will go the distance to reach that goal we set in our minds.
But then, as racism became so rampant not only to us but to our brothers and sisters across the Asian ethnicity, we stood our ground the hard way. After all, we are generally polite before we are challenge. We were raised that way. It is our culture and part of our heritage. We are a bit of a character. So everything we are, they gotta "deal with it".
This shirt is a statement of who we are, what we are made of and where we came from.
Carry your truth, wear Pinoy Ako & be proud of your origin.

OUR STORY
We are four siblings and two of us are OFWs. We no longer have our parents.
I work as a sorter of parts in a car company in Japan and my "ate" (eldest sister) work as a housecleaner and car washer in Australia.
Contrary to most belief, we don't have the best life abroad.
We may have a better paying job but we get paid by the work we do. Hard work + homesick = good pay.
In 2019, I was diagnosed with a serious ailment and won't be able to get back to work for God knows until when.
Our siblings in Manila were not capable to send help since they also live an average life over there.
But my "ate" is determined to pull me out from the fate of getting depressed and unable.
She worked by the day and do research at night, hoping to find a business that I can do at home so I don't have to go back to work where I carry tens of 20 kilo boxes spare parts everyday.
Her hope was, I can continue my therapy without worrying where to get the budget for the next medication is coming from. So I'd be able to get back to the happy person I was once.
Until finally, Sugi got started just this year at the height of pandemic.
It was a journey of ups and downs, of giving up and pushing forward.
But the need and the Filipino in us kept us pushing more. Can you resonate?
Later we've found out, she's also fighting her own battle with Breast CA & she is fighting it alone.
Can you see what my point is? Filipinos normally work for their family.
We are unselfish, we are generous, we love unconditionally.
We help the clan, we are happy to give, we are happy to see our loved ones enjoying life that we are able to make for them on our own expense.
This is one of the many stories of families, of siblings, of Filipinos particularly OFWs.
She did this all for the love of family, for the love of me.
We dedicate this work to all migrants & OFWs around the world who are all chasing their dreams.
Bless us all. Bless the Filipino people.
